One of the most interesting and complex projects of 2025, in which we had many challenges and requirements. The project was carried out in the furniture store in Madrid. Here we installed a 140m² stretch ceiling, into which we integrated various types of lighting solutions, as well as fire sprinklers. The exclusive ceiling design was designed by a well-known interior designer, whose visualizations we were guided by when implementing this order. The most important requirement of the client was deadlines. The ceiling installation had to be completed within no more than 2 weeks, and we could only carry out the work in the evenings and nights, from 9 pm to 9 am on weekdays, or on weekends.
The client’s request was to completely update the interior of the salon, integrating directional lights into the ceiling, so that it would be possible to adjust the lighting, emphasizing the attention of customers to specific products or salon areas. Since the products displayed in the store are in the Premium segment, we had to pay special attention to the quality of lighting. Along the entire back wall of the salon, there was a desire to form a niche for curtains with LED lighting, thus hiding the entrance to the storage rooms. The niche retreat in places reached as much as 600 mm. All walls of the store were illuminated around the perimeter, and due to the fire protection system in the shopping center, we had to integrate as many as 10 sprinklers into the ceiling. One of the most important ceiling areas was the gap in the ceiling, i.e. after entering the pavilion, the ceiling had to be 10 meters long, then there had to be a gap of about 5 meters and after it the ceiling began again, which was connected to the storage room.
The salon space is quite specific, and the ceiling provided for in the project had to be built in segments, as we have already mentioned – with a gap. Therefore, the first ceiling segment could only be attached to two side walls, while the width of the ceiling reached as much as 7 meters. For this reason, we had to take care of additional reinforcement of the ceiling frame, without which it would simply not be possible to fix the ceiling perimeter and lighting elements. The ceiling structure was made of standard plasterboard profiles, to which we attached the tension ceiling structures. In order to ensure safety, we additionally hung the entire structure on cables attached to the main ceiling of the shopping center.
4 different lighting options were used throughout the project:
In order to carry out the project as closely as possible to the visualization project created by the interior designer, we had to leave a gap between the ceilings. It was at this point that the engineer and installers spent several days coordinating the safest and best implementation option. In this place, it was necessary to design a steep 90-degree ceiling break from the horizontal plane to the vertical, and to provide for the horizontal plane to be illuminated around the perimeter. To form a right angle at the ceiling break, we used a “Z”-shaped profile. As many as 3 types of profiles were used for this node.
The client had an extremely limited timeframe for the repair – 4 weeks. 2 weeks were allocated for demolition and finishing works, and 2 weeks for the ceiling. Before the Brilliance engineer arrived, the client had already met with several stretch ceiling contractors. However, all of them refused to carry out the work, claiming that the project was impossible to implement. This may be due to the lack of engineering competence of the contractors and their lack of experience in working on projects of such complexity.
